It has been a long time coming, but the Major in San Diego, Kevin Faulconer, is pleased to announce that they are getting ready to begin work on a second city station.
The New Bayside Fire Station
The station in the downtown area will resolve issues with the railroad crossing area that may have caused delays in the past when trying to provide city services.
The project is expected to cost a little more than 14 million, and it includes a fire truck with a new engine, facilities for sleeping, exercising and cooking.
The area has needed an additional fire station for some time due to neighborhood expansions, new businesses and an increase in population. The new Bayside Fire Station is due to be completed near the end of 2017.
